Rare sharing of data leads to progress on Alzheimer’s
In 2003, a group of scientists and executives from the National Institutes of Health, FDA, drug and medical-imaging industries, universities and nonprofit groups joined in a project to find the biological markers that show the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. That effort is finally paying off with a wealth of recent scientific papers on early diagnosis of this terrible disease. Full Article.
Early Dementia Screening Project Potential in Cenla
The Institute for Dementia Research and Prevention started in 2008 at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center to bring to LA a world-class dementia research program, focused on understanding the basis for Alzheimer’s disease. There are over 600 individuals throughout La participating in this program, which is open to any individuals in the Alexandria area who are 60 yrs of age or older and who are interested in receiving annual cognitive exams as part of this study.
