The Forest Hill Family Health Clinic, part of Oakdale Community Hospital, celebrates its grand opening on Sept 14. The clinic’s nurse practitioner and clinic team will offer diagnosis and treatment for illnesses and minor injuries as well as for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and respiratory problems. 6th Annual Louisiana Nursery Festival
The 6th Annual LA Nursery Festival is slated for March 18-20 in Forest Hill, LA. Local nursery growers will offer all types of shrubs and trees, abundant with blooms, in a variety of sizes. In addition, over 50 vendors set up booths offering for sale a wide variety of handmade crafts, plus a variety of food such as chicken, shrimp, pork, gator on a stick, funnel cakes, etc. Full article.
Multiple activities scheduled for week-end of March 19th

Forest Hill Firefighters Resign
KALB Television Station reported on 11/10/09 that several Forest Hill Firefighters submitted their resignations, and there is the possibility of more resignations from the department, which may affect insurance rates for homes and businesses in the Forest Hill area. The closest fire department is in Lecompte, La. Full Article.
