Conservation Fund purchases about 4,000 acres to add to wildlife refuge
The Conservation Fund recently purchased 2,340 acres of mixed farmland and timberland in Morehouse Parish, completing an effort initiated by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to add a total of 3,905 acres to Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in northeastern LA. The refuge provides a seasonal haven for tens of thousands of migratory ducks and geese which visit the refuge every year for resting, foraging and breeding. Full article.
