Android tops IPhone, BlackBerry in U.S.

Nielsen Co reports that Google Inc.’s Android software is the most popular operating system in the U.S. among new smartphone buyers, passing the iPhone and BlackBerry platforms. Android was the top choice for U.S. consumers who bought a smartphone in the past six months with BlackBerry and iPhone tied for second place.    Full article.  

 

Apple: More security issues?

A German government agency says there are two weak points in the operating systems for iPads, iPhones and iPod touches, and opening a compromised website or file could allow unauthorized access to information, or allow others to listen to conversations. Apple recently indicated that it is aware of the problem and has investigations underway. Full Article

 

Google to Push Android Deeper into Asia

Google plans to push its Android mobile software in India and China. To attract programmers to its Android operating system, Google may offer tools that help them sell subscriptions, virtual goods, and other items. Android is part of Google's strategy to get more of its software on mobile devices, creating new avenues to sell advertising. Google also is increasing incentives for app developers. Apple’s Killer iPhone

Apple’s new iPhone is built not just to compete with other phones, but to keep pushing the boundaries of the Apple universe. It attempts to divert revenue from advertisers, book publishers and content providers.
