Kansas aviation firm considering La. facility
Hawker Beechcraft, which builds business jets, is considering moving manufacturing out of Kansas and to either Louisiana or Mississippi, according to published reports. Bill Boisture, Hawker's CEO, recently indicated that a series of decisions will be made over the next 6 months. Full Article.

States' Tax Collections Falter, Widening Budget Gaps
April tax collections are falling short of forecasts and even dropping below last year's depressed levels in a number of states, complicating budget troubles and prompting some governors to dip into rainy-day funds. U.S. Unemployment Drops Below 10%
Recent government reports indicated that the unemployment rate dropped unexpectedly in January to 9.7 percent from 10 percent while employers shed 20,000 jobs. Labor Dept. Analysts said the rate dropped because a survey of households found the number of employed Americans rose by 541,000. Full Article.
