Located on 307 acres just north of the historic city of Natchitoches on the Red River, the Natchitoches Parish Port offers an excellent location and facilities for industrial tenants and shippers. It is conveniently located on LA Hwy 6 with easy access to federal highways in addition to Interstate 49 and has direct rail access to the Kansas City Southern Railroad. The Natchitoches Parish Port boasts a 320 foot long general cargo dock and 62,000-square-foot transit shed, rail spur and access roads. It also has a 12,000-square-foot concrete river dock and wood chip loading facility. The port has the distinction of being the only slack water port on the Red River.
Port of Alexandria

A prime location in the center of the state, close to I-49 and Alexandria International Airport, gives the Port of Alexandria many advantages for commercial and industrial commerce. The port includes about 125 acres containing a public terminal, a 15,000 square-foot warehouse, petroleum dock, steel bulk-head dock, general cargo dock with rail access and a 40-ton bridge crane equipped with a clamshell bucket, grappler and hopper-loader. The Port of Alexandria has had the distinction of being the largest receiver and shipper of military equipment on inland waterways in the continental United States. The port's proximity to Fort Polk's Joint Readiness Training Center in Leesville has attracted heavy use by the U.S. Army and other military units, which use the river to move equipment in and out for training exercises at the nearby military post. Additionally, the Louisiana National Guard has regularly used the Port of Alexandria to ship barge-loads of equipment to such distant locales as Belize and Honduras for construction missions.
